Privacy Policy for Sync-it Mobile

Sync-it Mobile helps users measure and record audio/video sync using the device camera, microphone, and optional compatible Sync-it hardware.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, what information may be processed or transmitted, and how that information is used.

1. Information the app accesses

Sync-it Mobile may request access to the following on your device:

  • Camera — used to capture video for sync measurement and recording.

  • Microphone — used to capture audio for sync measurement and recording.

  • Photo Library — used only if you choose to export recordings to your Photos library.

These permissions are used only to provide the app’s core functionality.

2. Information stored on your device

Sync-it Mobile may store information locally on your device, including:

  • app settings and preferences

  • trial and entitlement state

  • locally saved recordings and related metadata

  • temporary unlock-code state or status needed for app functionality

  • diagnostic or debug information in development builds

This locally stored information is used to operate the app and improve the user experience.

3. Unlock code verification

If you choose to enter an unlock code, Sync-it Mobile may send limited information to our backend service for verification.

This may include:

  • the unlock code or serial number you enter

  • an app-generated install identifier

  • platform information

  • app version

  • device model

This information is used only to:

  • verify whether an unlock code is valid

  • determine whether an unlock code has already been used or is eligible

  • support hardware-owner or discount-code access flows

  • maintain an audit trail of unlock-code redemption attempts

  • help investigate support issues or misuse

Unlock-code verification requests are processed through our backend infrastructure, which currently uses Cloudflare services.

We do not use this information for advertising.

4. In-app purchases and restores

Sync-it Mobile uses Apple’s in-app purchase system for:

  • full unlock purchases

  • hardware-backed unlock purchases where applicable

  • restoring purchases linked to your Apple account

Purchase transactions are handled by Apple. We may receive limited entitlement or transaction status information needed to unlock features in the app, but we do not receive your payment card details.

5. Recordings and media

Recordings created in the app are stored locally on your device unless you choose to export them.

If you export a recording to Photos, the exported media is then subject to Apple Photos behavior and your device settings.

Sync-it Mobile does not upload your recordings to our servers unless this is explicitly added and disclosed in a future version.

6. Analytics, tracking, and advertising

Sync-it Mobile does not use third-party advertising.

Sync-it Mobile does not track you across apps or websites for advertising purposes.

  • If you do not use analytics or crash reporting:
    Sync-it Mobile does not currently use third-party analytics or crash-reporting tools.

  • If you do use analytics or crash reporting:
    Sync-it Mobile may use analytics or crash-reporting tools to help improve app reliability and performance. If enabled, those tools may collect limited technical information such as app version, device type, and crash details.

7. How we use information

We use information only as needed to:

  • provide sync measurement and recording features

  • verify unlock codes and eligibility

  • enable in-app purchases and restore purchases

  • save your preferences and local app state

  • provide support and troubleshoot issues

  • protect against fraud or misuse of unlock codes

8. How information is shared

We may share limited information only with service providers necessary to operate the app, such as:

  • Apple, for in-app purchases and restores

  • Cloudflare, for unlock-code verification backend services and secure delivery

We do not sell your personal information.

9. Data retention

Information stored locally on your device remains there until you remove it, uninstall the app, or clear it through app or device controls.

Server-side unlock verification records may be retained for operational, audit, fraud-prevention, and support purposes for as long as reasonably necessary.

If you contact us about deletion of server-side unlock verification data, we will review such requests in line with our legal and operational obligations.

10. Your choices

You can:

  • choose whether to grant camera, microphone, or photo permissions

  • choose whether to export recordings

  • choose whether to enter an unlock code

  • use Restore Purchases through Apple where applicable

  • contact us with privacy questions or support requests

If you deny certain permissions, some features of the app may not work.

11. Children’s privacy

Sync-it Mobile is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children for advertising or profiling purposes.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted at the Privacy Policy URL associated with the app.
